Boarding

Have you ever wondered what to do with your pet while on vacation? We have the facilities to provide your pet with a
comfortable stay while you are away. Kennels are available
for both cats and dogs, housed in separate rooms. We will
feed any specialized or prescription diets that may be required
as well as medicate any animals as needed. You will have the
added benefit of knowing that if you animal experiences any
illness while you're away, it will be promptly and competently addressed by one of our trained staff.
For a tour of our boarding facilities, or to set up dates for
boarding, feel free to call our clinic.

Pet Supplies and Accessories
Our retail area provides you with a variety of pet supplies
from quality food and healthy treats to dental care supplies,
leashes, and collars. You are assured that the food, treats,
and other products and accessories are 'vet approved' for your pet.

Micro-chipping

Micro-chipping has become a very popular and safe way to permanently identify your pet in the unfortunate case that your pet is lost. Micro-chipping involves placement of a small electronic chip the size and shape of a piece of rice just under the skin in the neck and shoulder area of your pet. If your pet becomes lost and is transported to a humane society or veterinary clinic, they will be able to scan your pet for the chip and contact you.
Micro-chipping may qualify you for a discount on your pet registration with your local Animal Services location.

Referral Services

The majority of your pet's health needs will be met at our practice; however, there are circumstances where a veterinary specialist may be required. Our veterinarians work closely with the nearest referral centers in Calgary to ensure that you receive the best possible care at all times. If the need arises, we may direct you and your pet to a specialist in Calgary who is a veterinarian with advanced training and knowledge in a particular area of veterinary medicine or surgery. In some cases, specialized equipment is required to perform procedures that are not routinely performed by general veterinary practitioners. Pet Insurance

Having pet insurance is a great way of assuring that there are funds available to cover veterinary expenses in the case of an illness or accident.
There are many pet insurance companies in place. Most require a monthly or annual premium paid according to the level of coverage that you choose. We have brochures from different pet insurance companies at our clinic, which may help you to decide which plan and insurance company will work best for you pet.

Euthanasia
When the time comes, this is one of the hardest decisions a pet owner ever has to make. It is often a very difficult and emotional circumstance to go through. Our veterinarians and staff are very compassionate, person, professional and experienced with this process. We will do our best to help you and your pet at this most difficult time.

Rescue Groups
Uplands Pet Hospital provides spay neuter services for
NOKA,   the P.A.W Society, Prairie Dog Canine Rescue and other agencies in Lethbridge. These services are intended to help control the overpopulation of dogs and cats in our city which relives the pressures on local shelters and humane societies.

Grief Counselling
The loss of a pet can be a tragic event. The emotions we have as a result of this loss are real, justifiable and nothing to be ashamed of. Our team understands these feelings, as many of us have faced this in our own lives. We also have literature that can help you and your children deal with the loss of a family pet. Please don't hesitate to contact us regarding this issue.
